About Dr Ryan James - Podiatric Surgery

Dr Ryan James is a registered specialist podiatric surgeon with training and experience in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. He manages a broad range of foot and ankle conditions, including complex presentations, with a focus on evidence-based and patient-centred care.

Dr James completed a Bachelor of Podiatry (2009) and a Bachelor of Health Science (Honours) (2011) at the University of Newcastle, followed by a Master of Public Health (2019). In 2026, he was awarded Fellowship of the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons (FACPS) after completing an accredited specialist surgical training program.

International Surgical Training

As part of his surgical training, Dr James spent time at North Bristol NHS Trust in the United Kingdom and The Podiatry Institute in association with Emory University Hospital, United States. These placements contributed to his experience in foot and ankle surgery, including reconstructive and revision procedures.

Academic and Teaching Roles

Dr James has been actively involved in clinical education. He previously held an academic appointment as an Associate Professor with the Podiatry program at the University of Western Sydney and currently works as a lecturer with Central Queensland University.

Research and Professional Involvement

Dr James has contributed to clinical research and has published in the International Journal of Anatomy, Radiology and Surgery. He remains involved in ongoing research relating to surgical outcomes.

He has presented at professional conferences including the Australian Podiatry Conference and the Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons Annual Scientific Meeting.
